Produce On Wheels (POW!)

POW! launched in October 2015 after a needs assessment revealed that recipients wanted access to fresh fruits and vegetables. These deliveries are provided free of charge and are meant to provide additional healthy snacks.

Bags typically include some of the following: a head of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, oranges, bananas, green peppers, and sweet potatoes, along with an educational handout (offered in both English and Spanish) that has information on the health benefits of the items and easy recipes.

Meals On Wheels of Tampa ensures that our senior and homebound neighbors have access to adequate nutrition even when family support, mobility and resources are limited. Volunteers deliver the POW! bags to all our program meal recipients on the 3rd Saturday of most months.

Step 1. Please complete a Volunteer Application.

Step 2. Sign up for a route – sign into Volunteer Hub or call the office!
