The Humane Society of Tampa Bay and Meals On Wheels of Tampa partner together as two non-profits helping one another make a difference in our community

TAMPA, Fla.– (November 14, 2011) – Meals On Wheels of Tampa has partnered with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to provide pet food to more homebound and senior individuals in our community who have hungry animals.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay delivers free dog and cat food to seniors who are homebound. The Animeals program enables individuals to keep their pets even if they are unable to leave their homes to buy pet food.  Dedicated volunteers deliver the food on the first Saturday of every month.  Meals On Wheels of Tampa serves a large population of homebound seniors by delivers hot healthy meals five days a week.  Many of the MOW Tampa pet owners sacrifice their own nutrition by sharing portions of their meal with their hungry pets.  By introducing the Animeals program to MOW Tampa recipients, these individuals and their animals will now be able to maintain a healthy diet.

Both organizations celebrate this partnership, allowing them to share vital resources in order to meet their mission’s needs, caring for people who have pets and need a little extra help providing for them.
