Meals On Wheels of Tampa announces upcoming succession plans for CEO, Steve King, for the end of the year.
Meals On Wheels of Tampa (MOWT) announced that Steve King has notified the Board of Directors of his plans to retire as the CEO at the end of 2025. MOWT, established 50 years ago in a local church, prepared and delivered 315,017 meals last year to the area’s seniors and homebound individuals, allowing thousands of neighbors to remain independent and age in their own homes.
In announcing his decision to retire as Executive Director, Steve said, “It has been my profound honor and privilege to lead MOWT for 19 years. With the guidance and support of the Board of Directors, dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, and generous community philanthropists, we have grown as an important organization providing seniors and homebound neighbors of Greater Tampa nourishment and enrichment as they live with dignity and safety in the comfort of their own homes. I am proud of the strong agency we have built, which is well prepared to serve the next generation of seniors.”
Under the leadership of Board President, Ed Bass, the Board of Directors will seek Steve’s successor, who will continue to passionately lead the mission with vision and conviction, delivering services in the next chapter of the agency’s long history. Ed said, “Over the past 19 years, Steve has led Meals On Wheels of Tampa with vision, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to transforming the lives of homebound and seniors in our community. His leadership has laid the foundation for lasting impact and inspired all of us to be filled with passion and energy for this mission. We are deeply grateful for his extraordinary legacy in this community.” Steve has committed to supporting the next leader and MOWT throughout the transition.
